Common Uses

Mild steel angle is widely used for structural frames, brackets and supports, lintels, shelving, gates and railings, trailer and vehicle work, agricultural structures, bracing, edge protection and general fabrication. The equal angle (L-shaped) profile provides rigidity and strength in two directions while remaining easy to cut, drill and weld.

Material Grade

Supplied in S275 mild steel, a commonly specified general-purpose structural grade suitable for welding, cutting, drilling and fabrication. For exact section properties, tolerances and mass per metre, refer to the applicable mill certificate or relevant BS EN standard for your application.

Finish and Protection

Mild steel angle is supplied in standard mill finish. The surface may show normal mill scale, handling marks or light surface oxidation, which is typical for untreated steel. For outdoor or moisture-exposed use, the steel should be cleaned, primed and protected with a suitable paint or coating system.

Cutting and Fabrication

S275 mild steel angle can be cut, drilled, welded and fabricated using suitable metalworking tools and correct preparation. We can also supply this angle cut to size on request — contact us before ordering with your required lengths to confirm availability. Cut ends and drilled holes should be protected if the section will be used outside or in damp conditions. Always use suitable protective equipment when cutting, drilling or welding steel.
