Finish your interlocking floor neatly with our ramp edges for garage floor tiles. Each bevelled edge strip slots straight onto the exposed side of our 12mm interlocking tiles to create a smooth, trip-free ramp from tile down to floor — ideal for open doorways, walkways and free-standing "island" bays. Available as male or female edges in black, grey or yellow, with free UK delivery.

A neat, trip-free finish for exposed edges

Wherever your tiled area has an open edge — a garage doorway, the end of a run, or an island bay in the middle of a unit — a raw tile edge is a trip hazard and looks unfinished. These 470mm bevelled ramp strips solve both: they lock onto the tile's interlocking teeth and slope gently to the floor, so trolleys, jacks and feet roll over the join cleanly. The hi-vis yellow option adds a clear safety edge for commercial units and workshops.

Male vs female edges — which do I need?

Interlocking tiles have male teeth (pegs) on two sides and female sockets on the other two. A ramp edge clips onto whichever tile edge is left exposed — and it has to be the opposite type to lock in:

  • A tile side showing male pegs takes a female ramp edge.
  • A tile side showing female sockets takes a male ramp edge.

Because most open areas have both types of edge showing, you'll usually need a mix of male and female strips. If you're unsure, lay your tiles first, then count how many exposed edges show pegs (order female) and how many show sockets (order male). Choose black or grey to blend with the floor, or yellow to stand out.

How many edges do I need?

Each ramp edge finishes 470mm (about 0.47m) of exposed edge. Measure the total length of the open sides you want to ramp and divide by 0.47 to get the number of strips — for example, a 3m open doorway needs about 7 edges. Split the order between male and female to match your tile edges, and add a couple of spares for cuts.

Making a neat corner

To wrap a ramped edge around an external corner (for example an island bay finished on two sides), simply cut one male and one female edge in half at 45° with a fine saw and butt them together — it forms a tidy mitred corner in seconds.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need ramp edges?

Only where your tiled area has an exposed edge - an open doorway, the end of a run, or a free-standing island bay. Against walls you do not need them.

What is the difference between male and female edges?

Interlocking tiles have male teeth on two sides and female sockets on the other two. The ramp edge has to match the exposed tile edge, so most jobs need a mix of both male and female strips.

What colours are available?

Black and grey to blend in with the floor, or hi-vis yellow for a clear safety edge in workshops and commercial units.

Do they fit your 12mm interlocking tiles?

Yes - they are made from the same 12mm vinyl and are designed to lock straight onto our 12mm interlocking garage floor tiles.

How long is delivery?

Typically 3-5 working days, with free UK delivery on every order. Buying edges with your tiles? Add them to the same order and they arrive together.
