Collection: Durbar Plate

Durbar plate range — S275 steel chequer plate sheets, stair tread and landing plate in a UK steel yard

Durbar plate — also known as steel chequer plate, checker plate, tread plate or floor plate — is raised-pattern S275 mild steel sheet with a teardrop anti-slip surface, used for industrial flooring, ramps, walkways and stairs across the UK. Rackerman supplies the complete durbar range: full sheets, ready-made stair treads and landing plates, all in S275 grade with free UK delivery.

Durbar plate sheets

Our S275 durbar floor plate comes in 8×4ft (2500 × 1250mm) and 2m × 1m (2000 × 1000mm) sheets from 3mm to 10mm, with the traditional raised teardrop durbar pattern for grip underfoot. Ideal for mezzanine decking, loading ramps, trailer beds and heavy-duty anti-slip flooring.

Durbar stair treads & landing plates

We also supply pre-formed durbar stair treads ready to bolt straight onto a staircase — in mild steel, hot-dip galvanised, DDA (deep-nosing) and tapered spiral patterns — plus matching durbar landing plates in standard and intermediate configurations. Together they let you build a complete slip-resistant steel staircase from one material.

Durbar vs aluminium chequer plate

Steel durbar is stronger, heavier and lower cost per sheet than aluminium chequer plate, making it the correct choice for structural flooring, ramps under plant and high-traffic industrial use. Steel durbar should be painted or galvanised for outdoor use; aluminium needs no coating.

Delivery

Durbar sheets ship in 3–5 working days; made-to-pattern treads and landings in 5–10 working days, with free mainland UK delivery. These are heavy items — please ensure offload assistance is available.
