PVC roll vs interlocking tiles vs mats
For covering a whole garage floor, a roll is the fastest, cheapest, seam-free option.
| PVC roll | Interlocking tiles | Loose mats | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coverage speed | Fast — roll it out | Slower — clip each tile | Spot coverage only |
| Joins / seams | Few — full-width sheet | Many tile seams | Lots of edges |
| Cost to cover a garage | Lowest | Higher | N/A for full floors |
| Best for | Full garage, gym & workshop floors | Small / awkward spaces | Workbenches, doorways |

Good to know
Working bay with regular oil or fuel spills? PVC handles the odd spill wiped up promptly, but for constant oil contact choose a solid rubber floor instead.
Our graphite grey PVC garage flooring is a heavy-duty 2m wide roll, cut to the exact length you need and supplied in your choice of raised coin or checker plate pattern. It is the wide-format garage flooring roll that covers a single garage in fewer strips, laying a clean, hard-wearing, non-slip surface straight over tired concrete, timber or an existing floor.
Coin or Checker Plate — Choose Your Pattern
Pick the surface that suits the space. The checker plate (chequer) pattern gives the classic raised-diamond tread of steel Durbar plate — purposeful, industrial and grippy underfoot. The coin (penny round) pattern gives a smart, evenly studded finish that is popular for showrooms, man-caves and display floors. Both are the same graphite grey PVC at the same price per metre, so it comes down to the look you want.
Size, Thickness and Material
Every roll is 2 metres wide as standard and 2.5mm thick, cut to length from 1m up to 15m in a single continuous piece. The material is flexible PVC — often sold as PVC rubber — a hard-wearing vinyl floor covering rather than solid black rubber. That makes it lighter, easier to roll out and available in a modern graphite grey. Measure your floor, add a little for trimming, and choose your length from the dropdown.
Where This Garage Flooring Works Best
This 2m wide rubber-look garage flooring roll suits garages, workshops, home gyms, sheds, utility rooms, vans, trailers, storage units and showroom floors. The wide roll and cut-to-length format means fewer joins across a floor than interlocking tiles or small mats — a cleaner finish and a quicker fit.
Oil, Fuel and Chemicals — Read This First
PVC garage flooring shrugs off dust, water, foot traffic and the odd spill wiped up promptly. It is not designed for constant contact with oil, petrol, diesel or solvents, which can soften or mark vinyl over time. If you are flooring a working bay where a car sits and drips, choose a solid rubber garage floor instead. For everyday garage, gym, van and showroom use, PVC is the smarter-looking, better-value option.
How to Fit It
Loose-lay in most cases: roll it out, let it relax and flatten for a few hours, then trim to the walls with a sharp utility knife and a straight edge — PVC cuts cleanly. The 2m roll can also be cut down its length to make narrower runs. For a permanent finish, use double-sided tape or a compatible flooring adhesive on a clean, dry, level subfloor.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Sweep, vacuum or mop with mild detergent and water, wiping spills promptly and avoiding harsh solvents. The textured coin and checker surfaces help disguise dust, tyre marks and everyday wear between cleans.
Delivery and Handling
Free UK delivery, typically 3–5 working days. Rolls are heavy and bulky at longer lengths, so plan for two people to move and position a long roll and make sure there is clear access for the courier. Need multiple rolls or a trade quantity? Contact us for a bulk quote.
