About EN3B (080A15) Bright Bar

EN3B, also known as 080A15, is a low-carbon bright drawn mild steel. The bright drawing process gives a smoother surface finish and tighter dimensional tolerance than hot-rolled bar, making it well suited to machining, turning and applications where finish and accuracy matter. It is readily welded, drilled and fabricated.

Bright Bar vs Hot-Rolled (Black) Bar

Bright bar is cold drawn for a clean, accurate finish and closer tolerance, ideal for machining and visible work. Hot-rolled (black) bar, such as our S275 round bar, has a darker scaled surface and looser tolerance, and is typically chosen for general structural and fabrication use where finish is less critical.

Finish
