About Galvanised Steel
Galvanised steel is mild steel coated in zinc by hot-dip galvanising, protecting the steel from rust and corrosion. This makes it well suited to outdoor, damp and exposed applications where untreated mild steel would corrode. The bar can be welded, drilled and cut, though any cut ends or welded areas should be re-protected with a suitable zinc-rich paint to maintain corrosion resistance.
