Durbar Landing Plates – Mild Steel Pattern 1 Anti-Slip Checker Plate Stair Landings

Our durbar landing plates are pre-formed Pattern 1 checker plate platforms that finish a flight of durbar stair treads with a matching anti-slip landing. Each landing plate is pressed from S275 mild steel with a raised durbar pattern and folded turn-up / turn-down edges, supplied ready to fit. Two configurations are available: standard landing plates with 1 up and 1 down turn for top and base landings, and intermediate landing plates with 3 up and 1 down turn for mid-flight half-landings. Sizes run from 800 x 800mm up to 1250 x 1250mm to suit standard UK staircase widths.

Finish: mill finish (self-colour) — paint, prime or galvanise to suit

Standard vs Intermediate Landing Plates

A standard landing plate has a single up-turn and single down-turn, making it ideal for the top or bottom of a staircase where the landing meets one flight. An intermediate (half-landing) plate has three up-turns and one down-turn so it can sit between two flights on a switchback or dog-leg stair, with the raised edges closing the gap to the surrounding stringers. Choose the configuration that matches where the landing sits in your stair run.

Common Uses

Durbar landing plates are used alongside steel stair treads on industrial access staircases, fire escapes, mezzanines, gantries, plant rooms and platform stairs. The continuous durbar checker plate surface provides a slip-resistant, debris-free landing that matches the treads above and below, giving a consistent finish across the whole staircase.

Fitting & Workability

Each landing plate is supplied with its folded edges ready to bolt or weld onto the supporting steelwork. S275 durbar plate can be drilled, cut and welded with standard steelwork methods and accepts paint, primer or hot-dip galvanising after fabrication where corrosion protection is required. For external or wet locations, galvanising the landing to match galvanised treads is recommended.

Our landing plates are pressed from the same S275 durbar plate as our 8×4ft durbar checker plate sheets and 2m × 1m durbar plate, and are designed to pair with our durbar stair treads (also available galvanised) for a complete staircase.
