Perforated Galvanised Steel Sheet – Zinc-Coated, 9 Round Hole Patterns (R2mm to R20mm), 0.7mm to 2mm, 2m x 1m & 2.5m x 1.25m Sheets
Couldn't load pickup availability
Perforated galvanised steel sheet from Rackerman, available in 9 round-hole patterns from R2/T3.5 to R20/T27, in thicknesses of 0.7mm, 0.8mm, 1mm, 1.5mm and 2mm, and sheet sizes of 2 x 1m and 2.5 x 1.25m. Pre-galvanised (zinc-coated) steel gives strong corrosion resistance, making galvanised perforated sheet the right choice for outdoor, damp and exterior applications where uncoated mild steel would rust. Select your exact hole pattern, sheet size and thickness from the options above – every combination is a stocked specification supplied across the UK, cut to size on request.
Why choose perforated galvanised steel sheet?
Perforated galvanised steel combines strength and rust resistance with open area for airflow, light, drainage and visual effect. It is widely used for exterior ventilation grilles, machine and plant guards, screens and sieves, balustrade and balcony infill panels, acoustic screening, vehicle and trailer panels, agricultural screens and decorative facade cladding. Because the zinc coating is applied before perforating, this galvanised perforated metal is well suited to wet and outdoor environments; smaller holes such as R2/T3.5 give a finer, stronger panel, while larger holes such as R20/T27 give maximum open area and through-vision.
Hole patterns available
All patterns are round-hole on a staggered 60° triangular layout, the UK industry standard. The pattern code reads as R (hole diameter) / T (pitch, centre-to-centre spacing).
| Pattern | Hole | Pitch |
|---|---|---|
| R2/T3.5 | 2mm | 3.5mm |
| R3/T5 | 3mm | 5mm |
| R4/T8 | 4mm | 8mm |
| R5/T7 | 5mm | 7mm |
| R5/T8 | 5mm | 8mm |
| R8/T11 | 8mm | 11mm |
| R10/T13 | 10mm | 13mm |
| R10/T15 | 10mm | 15mm |
| R20/T27 | 20mm | 27mm |
Material grade & specification
Manufactured from pre-galvanised (hot-dip zinc-coated) mild steel to BS EN 10346, DX51D+Z, on a cold-reduced base. The zinc layer is metallurgically bonded before perforating and provides sacrificial protection, so cut and punched edges are protected by the surrounding coating. Supplied in a standard zinc/mill finish. Perforated galvanised steel sheet is supplied as a decorative and general-fabrication product and is not CE/UKCA-marked for load-bearing structural use. Certification against a specific gauge is available on request.
Sizes, thickness & tolerances
Sheet sizes: 2 x 1m and 2.5 x 1.25m. Thicknesses: 0.7mm, 0.8mm, 1mm, 1.5mm and 2mm. Heavier gauges give greater rigidity and load-bearing capacity; lighter gauges are easier to cut, form and handle for decorative screens. Material is produced to BS EN ISO 9001 tolerances. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What does a code like R5/T8 mean?
The 'R' is the round hole diameter in millimetres and the 'T' is the pitch – the centre-to-centre spacing between holes – on a staggered 60° pattern. So R5/T8 is 5mm round holes spaced 8mm apart. This is the standard UK perforated sheet convention.
What is perforated galvanised steel used for?
Perforated galvanised steel sheet is used for ventilation grilles, machine guards, screens and sieves, balustrade and balcony infill, acoustic panels, vehicle and trailer panels, agricultural screens, sign blanks and decorative facade cladding. Hole size and pitch determine the open area and the look.
Can I order a specific hole pattern, size and thickness?
Yes – choose the hole pattern, sheet size and thickness from the options on this page and the correct price updates automatically. Each combination is a stocked specification.
What's the delivery lead time?
