Perforated aluminium sheet from Rackerman, available in 5 round-hole patterns from R3/T5 to R10/T13, in thicknesses of 1mm and 1.5mm, and sheet sizes of 2 x 1m and 2.5 x 1.25m. Aluminium is roughly a third of the weight of steel and naturally corrosion-resistant, making perforated aluminium sheet ideal for lightweight panels, signage, ventilation and decorative work where easy handling matters. Select your exact hole pattern, sheet size and thickness from the options above – every combination is a stocked specification supplied across the UK, cut to size on request.

Why choose perforated aluminium sheet?

Perforated aluminium combines light weight and corrosion resistance with open area for airflow, light, drainage and visual effect. Aluminium perforated sheet is widely used for ventilation grilles, machine and plant guards, screens and sieves, balustrade and balcony infill panels, acoustic screening, signage and sign blanks, and decorative facade cladding. Smaller holes such as R3/T5 give a finer, more solid appearance; larger holes such as R10/T13 give a greater open area for maximum airflow and through-vision. Its low weight makes it far easier to lift, fix and transport than steel of the same size.

Hole patterns available

All patterns are round-hole on a staggered 60° triangular layout, the UK industry standard. The pattern code reads as R (hole diameter) / T (pitch, centre-to-centre spacing).

Pattern Hole Pitch
R3/T5 3mm 5mm
R3/T6 3mm 6mm
R5/T7 5mm 7mm
R6/T8.5 6mm 8.5mm
R10/T13 10mm 13mm

Material grade & specification

Manufactured from commercial-grade aluminium sheet (typically 1050A / 3103) in a mill finish. Aluminium is naturally corrosion-resistant through its own oxide layer, needs no coating for most applications, and can be left bright, anodised or powder-coated. Perforated aluminium sheet is supplied as a decorative and general-fabrication product and is not CE/UKCA-marked for load-bearing structural use. Certification against a specific gauge is available on request.

Sizes, thickness & tolerances

Sheet sizes: 2 x 1m and 2.5 x 1.25m. Thicknesses: 1mm and 1.5mm. The 1.5mm gauge gives greater rigidity; the 1mm gauge is lighter and easier to cut and form for decorative screens. Material is produced to BS EN ISO 9001 tolerances. These are stock-size sheets – for bespoke cut-to-size pieces or trade quantities (5+ sheets) contact us for a project quote.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What does a code like R5/T8 mean?

The 'R' is the round hole diameter in millimetres and the 'T' is the pitch – the centre-to-centre spacing between holes – on a staggered 60° pattern. So R5/T8 is 5mm round holes spaced 8mm apart. This is the standard UK perforated sheet convention.

What is perforated aluminium used for?

Perforated aluminium sheet is used for ventilation grilles, machine guards, screens and sieves, balustrade and balcony infill, acoustic panels, vehicle and trailer panels, agricultural screens, sign blanks and decorative facade cladding. Hole size and pitch determine the open area and the look.

Can I order a specific hole pattern, size and thickness?

Yes – choose the hole pattern, sheet size and thickness from the options on this page and the correct price updates automatically. Each combination is a stocked specification.

What's the delivery lead time?

Lead times are currently 3–5 working days. Sheets are heavy, bulky items delivered on a pallet to mainland UK addresses – suitable site access and someone to assist with offloading are required.
