10mm toughened glass panels in stock sizes for balustrade infill, partitions, shelving, shower screens and general safety glazing. Manufactured to BS EN 12150 (thermally toughened soda lime silicate safety glass) with impact classification to BS EN 12600.
10mm is suited to balustrade infill where a continuous top handrail is fitted, internal partitions, display cases, splashbacks and any application requiring safety glass at a moderate thickness.
Safety Glass
Toughened glass is heat-treated to be approximately four to five times stronger than annealed glass of the same thickness. If broken, it fractures into small blunt fragments rather than large sharp shards, reducing the risk of injury.
Balustrade Use
10mm monolithic toughened glass is suitable for balustrade infill panels where a continuous top handrail is fitted that can retain people if the glass fails. It is not suitable as the sole barrier (no handrail) — for sole-barrier applications, BS 6180 requires laminated glass (17.5mm or 21.5mm).
Stock Sizes
Panels are supplied in standard stock sizes. Toughened glass cannot be cut, drilled or notched after manufacture — all sizing is completed before the glass is tempered. Select your required size from the variant options.
