15mm toughened glass panels in clear float safety glass for balustrades, partitions, structural glazing, shower screens, tabletops and shelving. Manufactured to BS EN 12150 (thermally toughened soda lime silicate safety glass), the thicker 15mm build gives extra strength and rigidity for taller panels and larger unsupported spans. Technical Specification

Strength & Breakage

Toughened glass is heat-treated and rapidly cooled to put the surface under compression, making it approximately four to five times stronger than annealed glass of the same thickness. If broken, it fractures into small blunt fragments rather than large sharp shards, reducing the risk of injury — which is why toughened safety glass is specified for balustrades, screens and other public-facing applications under UK Building Regulations Part K.

Common Uses

15mm toughened glass suits balustrade infill (with a continuous top handrail), structural glass walls and partitions, shower enclosures, tabletops and worktops, shelving and general architectural glazing where a thicker, stiffer panel is wanted. Toughened glass cut to size is available — order a stock size from the options above, or contact us with your exact dimensions, cut-outs or shaped requirements for a quote. Toughened glass cannot be cut, drilled or notched after manufacture, so all sizing and any holes must be specified before the glass is tempered.
