About ERW Tube
ERW stands for electric resistance welded - the tube is formed from steel strip and welded along its length, giving a strong, dimensionally consistent round tube with a smooth finish. Grade E220 is a common mild steel tube grade well suited to fabrication, framework and general engineering. ERW tube is supplied in a mill finish and is not corrosion-protected, so for outdoor or damp use it should be cleaned and protected with a suitable coating.

Yes - ERW mild steel tube is readily welded, drilled and cut. For outdoor or damp use, clean and protect with a suitable coating as it is not corrosion-protected.
