Our aluminium sheet is high-purity grade 1050 H14, stocked in two sheet sizes and two thicknesses for UK trade, fabrication and commercial work. Every sheet is poly-coated one side with a durable PE protective film to prevent scratches during handling, transport and installation — peel it off after fitting for a clean, mark-free finish. Free UK mainland delivery in 3–5 working days.
Aluminium Sheet Sizes & Prices
Four ready-to-ship full-sheet options covering the majority of UK sheet-metal jobs:
- 8ft x 4ft (2500 x 1250mm) 1.5mm — £129.99. Full-size 1.5mm aluminium sheet for cladding, panels, ductwork and any project needing 8x4 coverage.
- 8ft x 4ft (2500 x 1250mm) 2mm — £169.99. Heavier 2mm aluminium sheet — the go-to for cladding, vehicle body panels, tanks and any application needing a bit more rigidity.
- 2m x 1m (2000 x 1000mm) 1.5mm — £84.99. Compact 1.5mm sheet for signage, splashbacks, fabrication and smaller cladding runs.
- 2m x 1m (2000 x 1000mm) 2mm — £114.99. Compact 2mm sheet for fabrication, brackets, patch panels and workshop use.
1050 H14 Grade Aluminium — Specification
Grade 1050 aluminium is high-purity commercial-grade aluminium containing a minimum 99.5% aluminium content — the highest purity of the common wrought grades and the standard specification across UK cladding, ductwork, signage and non-structural fabrication. It gives exceptional corrosion resistance, excellent thermal and electrical conductivity, and outstanding formability. Where fabricators or specifiers refer to aluminium plate, the same 1050 material at these gauges is often called "thin plate" or "sheet plate" — the terms overlap below 3mm.
H14 temper means the aluminium has been half-hardened by cold rolling and then stabilised, giving a strong balance of strength and workability. Softer than fully-hard tempers so it bends and forms cleanly without cracking, but stiffer than annealed for a solid feel and easier fabrication on the brake, snips and shear.
Poly-Coated One Side — Surface Protection
Every aluminium sheet metal panel is supplied with a polyethylene (PE) protective film on one face. The film protects the mill finish from scratches, marks and dirt during handling, transport, cutting and fabrication — critical for cladding, signage, splashbacks and any application where the finished appearance matters. Peel the film off after installation for a clean, unmarked aluminium surface.
Common Uses — Aluminium Sheet Metal
1050 H14 aluminium sheet is used for architectural cladding and wall panels, signage and display boards, ductwork and HVAC systems, automotive and marine fabrication, appliance panels, decorative panels, kitchen splashbacks, boat repairs, van conversions, custom bodywork and general workshop fabrication. Its lightweight nature (roughly one-third the weight of mild steel) and excellent corrosion resistance make it ideal for outdoor, coastal and marine applications where steel would rust.
Aluminium vs Mild Steel & Stainless Steel Sheet
Compared to mild steel sheet, aluminium is around a third of the weight and doesn't rust — but softer and lower in tensile strength. Compared to stainless steel sheet, aluminium is cheaper and lighter but softer and less heat-resistant. Choose aluminium for weight-critical, corrosion-critical or non-load-bearing work; choose mild steel for structural jobs; choose stainless for food-grade or premium finishes. For decorative anti-slip aluminium in the same 8x4 size see our aluminium chequer plate range.
Cutting, Bending & Fabrication
1050 H14 aluminium sheet cuts cleanly with tin snips (thinner gauges), circular saws with aluminium blades, jigsaws and CNC routers. Bends easily on a sheet-metal brake without cracking thanks to the H14 temper. Welds well with MIG or TIG using 4043 or 5356 filler wire. Drills, taps and rivets like standard aluminium — no special tooling needed for most jobs. Aluminium sheet is supplied in full standard sizes (8x4 and 2m x 1m) — we do not cut sheet to size.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What sizes of aluminium sheet do you stock?
Two sizes: full 8ft x 4ft (2500 x 1250mm) and a smaller 2m x 1m (2000 x 1000mm). Both are stocked in 1.5mm and 2mm thicknesses.
What is 1050 H14 aluminium?
1050 is a high-purity commercial-grade aluminium containing at least 99.5% aluminium content — excellent corrosion resistance, thermal and electrical conductivity, and formability. H14 is a half-hard temper achieved by cold rolling then stabilising, giving a good balance of strength and workability for cladding, signage and general fabrication.
Is the sheet poly-coated?
Yes. Every sheet is supplied with a polyethylene (PE) protective film on one face to protect the surface from scratches and marks during handling, transport and installation. The film peels off cleanly after fitting.
Can I cut, bend and weld it?
Yes. 1050 H14 cuts with tin snips or aluminium blades, bends cleanly on a sheet-metal brake, and welds with MIG or TIG using 4043 or 5356 filler wire. Drills, taps and rivets like standard aluminium.
Can I order cut to size?
Yes. Contact us with your required dimensions before ordering to confirm availability and pricing.
How is it delivered?
Free UK mainland delivery, 3–5 working days on a flat-bed lorry. Orders over 25kg need someone at the delivery address to help offload — check the weight table before ordering.
