Our galvanised steel sheets are hot-dip zinc coated in DX51D grade for improved corrosion resistance over untreated mild steel. Available in 2000x1000mm, 2500x1250mm (8x4ft) and 3000x1500mm sheets, in thicknesses from 0.6mm to 3mm. Suitable for cladding, ducting, fabrication and outdoor use, with a 3-5 working day lead time to mainland UK.

Galvanised Steel Sheet – DX51D Zinc Coated

Our galvanised steel sheet is hot-dip zinc coated in DX51D grade, offering improved corrosion resistance over untreated mild steel for indoor and outdoor use. Available in three sheet sizes — 2000x1000mm, 2500x1250mm (8x4ft) and 3000x1500mm — across thicknesses from 0.6mm to 3mm. Widely used for cladding, ducting, fabrication, agricultural and trade work, with a 3-5 working day lead time to mainland UK addresses.

Available Sizes and Thicknesses

2000x1000mm — available in 0.8mm, 1mm, 1.2mm, 1.5mm, 2mm and 3mm. From £59.99 per sheet.

2500x1250mm (8x4ft) — available in 0.6mm, 0.8mm, 1mm, 1.2mm, 1.5mm, 2mm and 3mm. From £64.99 per sheet.

3000x1500mm — available in 0.9mm, 1.2mm, 1.5mm and 3mm. From £109.99 per sheet.

Sheet weight increases significantly with thickness and larger sizes. Please check the chosen size and thickness before ordering.

Zinc Coated Finish

These sheets are hot-dip galvanised with a DX51D zinc coating to protect against rust and weathering. The surface may show normal zinc spangle patterning, handling marks or slight visual variation, which is typical of galvanised steel. Cut edges or drilled holes expose bare steel and should be protected with a zinc-rich paint or coating for long-term corrosion resistance.

Common Uses

Galvanised steel sheet is used for construction panels, cladding, ducting, agricultural repairs, trailer work, garden structures, workshop fabrication, protective covers, roofing details, enclosures, gates and general sheet metal projects. It is the standard choice where untreated mild steel would need additional rust protection.

Galvanised Sheet vs Mild Steel Sheet

Galvanised steel sheet has a zinc coating that resists corrosion, making it suitable for outdoor and exposed applications without additional painting. Mild steel sheet is supplied in untreated mill finish and is better suited to indoor fabrication or work that will be painted or enclosed. For damp, outdoor or exposed environments, galvanised is the more appropriate choice.

Cutting and Fabrication

Galvanised steel sheet can be cut, drilled, folded and fabricated using standard metalworking tools. When welding, grinding or heating galvanised steel, correct ventilation and safety precautions are essential, as fumes from the zinc coating can be hazardous.

Delivery Information

Lead times are currently 3-5 working days to mainland UK addresses, with a maximum of 10 working days to remote areas. FAQ

What grade is your galvanised steel sheet?

Our galvanised steel sheet is supplied in DX51D grade, hot-dip zinc coated for corrosion resistance. DX51D is the standard grade for galvanised sheet steel, suitable for cladding, ducting, fabrication and general construction in both indoor and outdoor environments.

What sizes and thicknesses are available?

Galvanised steel sheet is available in three sizes — 2000x1000mm, 2500x1250mm (8x4ft) and 3000x1500mm — in thicknesses from 0.6mm to 3mm. Not every thickness is available in every size; available options are shown on each product page.

What is the difference between galvanised and mild steel sheet?

Galvanised steel sheet has a zinc coating that resists corrosion, making it suitable for outdoor and exposed use without additional painting. Mild steel sheet is supplied in untreated mill finish, better suited to indoor fabrication or work that will be painted or enclosed. For damp or outdoor environments, galvanised is the more appropriate choice.

Can galvanised steel sheet be cut and welded?

Yes — galvanised steel sheet can be cut, drilled, folded and fabricated using standard metalworking tools. When welding, grinding or heating it, correct ventilation and safety precautions are essential as fumes from the zinc coating can be hazardous. Cut edges should be protected with zinc-rich paint for long-term corrosion resistance.

What are the delivery lead times for galvanised steel sheet?

Galvanised steel sheet is currently available on a 3-5 working day lead time to mainland UK addresses, with a maximum of 10 working days to remote areas. Sheets are heavy items — please ensure suitable access is available for delivery. Larger sheets may require assistance with unloading.
