2500 x 1250mm Zintec Sheet – Zinc-Coated Mild Steel Plate
2500 x 1250mm Zintec Sheet – Zinc-Coated Mild Steel Plate
Couldn't load pickup availability
Zintec sheet in 2500 x 1250mm (8x4ft), a cold-rolled mild steel sheet with a thin electro-zinc coating. The zinc layer gives a clean, smooth, paintable surface with light corrosion resistance for indoor and sheltered applications.
Widely used for HVAC ductwork, electrical enclosures, control panels, sign blanks, kick plates, lining panels, light fabrication and any application where a zinc-primed surface is wanted for painting or powder coating without the weight and cost of hot-dip galvanising.
How Zintec Differs from Galvanised Sheet
Zintec has a thin electro-zinc coating applied after cold rolling — it gives a smoother, cleaner surface ideal for painting but with lighter corrosion protection than hot-dip galvanised. Galvanised sheet has a thicker zinc coating suited to fully exposed outdoor use. Choose zintec for indoor enclosures and painted work; galvanised for outdoor exposure.

Available Thicknesses
Select the thickness from the variant options on this page. Thinner gauges suit ductwork, enclosures and sign-making. Heavier gauges suit structural panels and kick plates.
Fabrication
Zintec cuts, bends, drills and spot-welds cleanly with standard sheet metalworking tools. The smooth surface takes paint, primer and powder coating directly without extensive preparation — one of the main reasons zintec is specified for enclosures and panels.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is zintec and how does it differ from galvanised sheet?
Zintec is cold-rolled mild steel with a thin electro-zinc coating. It gives a smooth, clean surface ideal for painting. Galvanised sheet has a thicker hot-dip zinc coating for heavier outdoor corrosion protection. Zintec suits indoor and sheltered work; galvanised suits fully exposed outdoor use.
What thicknesses of zintec are available?
Check the variant options on the product page for the full range of thicknesses available in the 2500x1250mm size.
What is zintec sheet used for?
HVAC ductwork, electrical enclosures, sign blanks, control panels, light fabrication, kick plates, lining panels and any application where a clean zinc-primed surface is wanted for painting or powder coating.
Can zintec sheet be welded?
Yes, but the thin zinc coating burns off at the weld. Weld in a ventilated area and re-prime the welded area. Spot welding and seam welding work well on thinner zintec gauges.
Can zintec be painted directly?
Yes. The electro-zinc surface provides an excellent key for paint, primer and powder coating without extensive preparation — one of the main reasons zintec is specified for enclosures and panels.
