Zintec sheet in 2500 x 1250mm (8x4ft), a cold-rolled mild steel sheet with a thin electro-zinc coating. The zinc layer gives a clean, smooth, paintable surface with light corrosion resistance for indoor and sheltered applications.
Widely used for HVAC ductwork, electrical enclosures, control panels, sign blanks, kick plates, lining panels, light fabrication and any application where a zinc-primed surface is wanted for painting or powder coating without the weight and cost of hot-dip galvanising.
How Zintec Differs from Galvanised Sheet
Zintec has a thin electro-zinc coating applied after cold rolling — it gives a smoother, cleaner surface ideal for painting but with lighter corrosion protection than hot-dip galvanised. Galvanised sheet has a thicker zinc coating suited to fully exposed outdoor use. Choose zintec for indoor enclosures and painted work; galvanised for outdoor exposure.

Fabrication
Zintec cuts, bends, drills and spot-welds cleanly with standard sheet metalworking tools. The smooth surface takes paint, primer and powder coating directly without extensive preparation — one of the main reasons zintec is specified for enclosures and panels.

What is 8x4 in mm?
An 8ft x 4ft sheet is 2438 x 1219mm nominally (usually rounded to 2440 x 1220mm). Our 8x4 Zintec sheets are supplied at the metric equivalent of 2500 x 1250mm — the standard UK sheet size, slightly larger than the imperial nominal.
