Our black PVC coated wire mesh panels combine a galvanised steel core with a black PVC (plasticised) topcoat — giving you the strength of galvanised welded wire mesh with a discreet, low-visibility finish. This black mesh fencing blends into hedges, walls and dark backgrounds. Available in 6ft x 3ft, 6ft x 4ft and 8ft x 4ft sheets, all 12 gauge wire with 50mm square holes. Free UK mainland delivery.
Black Mesh Fencing — Why Choose the Black Finish
Black mesh fencing is the go-to for residential and landscaped settings where you want the fence to visually recede. The PVC coated wire mesh pairs the strength of a welded galvanised core with a matte black plasticised top layer — harder to see against hedging, brickwork and dark backgrounds than plain silver-grey galvanised. Used for garden security fencing where appearance matters, high-end residential boundary infill, urban perimeter fencing and any application where you want the mesh to disappear.
PVC Coated Wire Mesh — Two Layers of Corrosion Protection
Plastic coated wire mesh gives you two layers of weather protection: a hot-dip galvanised steel core (10+ years outdoor life on its own) plus a UV-stabilised black PVC outer layer bonded to the wire. The PVC softens the visual profile and slows down surface corrosion; the galvanised core underneath protects against structural rust regardless of coating condition.
Black Wire Mesh Panels — Sheet Sizes
- 6ft x 3ft (1.82m x 0.91m) — compact panel for garden borders, small enclosures and DIY.
- 6ft x 4ft (1.82m x 1.22m) — intermediate size for aviaries and fence infills.
- 8ft x 4ft (2.4m x 1.22m) — standard fencing panel size for boundary runs and larger enclosures.
Black Garden Mesh — Uses
Black garden mesh panels are used for garden boundary infills, screening around bins, sheds and hot tubs, urban front-garden fencing, playground and sport perimeters and any run where dark PVC blends into the setting better than silver galvanised. Also popular for security fencing where an inconspicuous finish is a benefit — the darker mesh is less noticeable from a distance.
50mm Hole 12G — Wire Specification
All panels are 50mm square-hole 12 gauge welded mesh — the general-purpose specification for garden and boundary fencing. 12G wire (~2.5mm diameter) is strong enough for typical fencing loads without the extra cost of 10G. The 50mm hole gives good containment for larger dogs, agricultural runs and boundary infills.
PVC Coated vs Plain Galvanised Welded Mesh
Choose black PVC coated when the appearance of the fence matters — residential settings, landscaped gardens, boundary infills where you want the mesh to disappear. Choose plain galvanised when it's a functional fence and appearance isn't a concern (agricultural, industrial, aviary bases) — the finish is silver-grey but the mesh performs identically. See our full galvanised welded mesh panels range for the standard option, or our green PVC coated welded mesh panels for garden-blending green.
Buying in Bulk
