Rackerman barbed wire is a strong galvanised barb wire built for livestock control and security topping on agricultural and commercial fences. Twisted from two galvanised steel line wires with sharp barbs at regular spacing, our barbed wire (barb wire) deters animals and intruders while standing up to years of outdoor use. Supplied in long 200-metre rolls, it's the dependable barbed wire fencing choice for farmers, landowners and contractors across the UK.

Barbed wire is manufactured to BS EN 10223-1 from heavily galvanised mild steel. Two line wires are twisted together with barbs spaced along the strand, creating a sharp, animal-deterring barrier that's quick to run between posts.

Typical uses

Topping stock and boundary fences, cattle and sheep control, security and perimeter lines, and reinforcing existing post-and-rail or stock fencing.

Build & install

Strain between corner/straining posts using a wire tensioner, then staple to intermediate timber posts (every 2.5–3m) or clip to steel posts. Always wear heavy-duty gloves and eye protection when handling.
