Couldn't load pickup availability
32mm grooved reversible decking boards in pressure-treated softwood, available in 125mm and 150mm widths and lengths from 3m to 4.8m. UC3-graded and green-treated for outdoor durability, with a reversible grooved/smooth profile giving you the choice of anti-slip ridged or clean smooth finish from the same board. Ideal for garden decking, balconies, steps, raised platforms and walkways. Boards from £9.87 inc VAT, with 3-5 working day UK delivery.
Reversible Grooved Profile
Each board is machined with a grooved face on one side and a smooth face on the other. The grooved side gives the traditional anti-slip decking finish, with channels that help water run off - the classic choice for garden decks where grip matters. The smooth reverse face gives a cleaner, more contemporary look, ideal for covered areas or where you want a flatter walking surface. You get both options in one board, so you can choose at install time or even mix the two on the same deck for visual interest.

UC3 Pressure Treatment
UC3 (Use Class 3) is the British Standard treatment level for timber used outdoors above ground - the correct specification for decking, fence boards and exterior cladding. These boards are pressure-treated with a copper-based preservative forced deep into the timber, protecting against rot, fungal decay and insect attack. Treat any freshly cut or drilled areas with a suitable end-grain preserver on site to maintain full protection.

Common Uses
Garden decking and patios, raised platforms and seating areas, balconies and walkways, pool and hot tub surrounds, steps, edging and built-in benches. The 32mm thickness suits domestic and light commercial decking on joists at 400mm centres.
Installation Notes
Lay boards across pressure-treated decking joists at 400mm centres (recommended for 32mm boards). Leave a 5-6mm expansion gap between boards to allow for movement. Fix with stainless steel or coated decking screws and pre-drill near board ends to prevent splitting. For best longevity, raise the deck off the ground and ensure good airflow underneath.
Finish and Weathering
As a natural pressure-treated softwood product, boards may show variation in colour, grain, knots and moisture content - this is normal and not a defect. The green treatment colour will weather to a silvery grey over time unless you apply a coloured decking stain or oil. For colour retention, treat the boards with a quality decking oil or stain annually.
Need a Different Spec?
We can also source 38mm thick decking boards on request for heavy-duty builds and commercial applications. Please contact us if you need 38mm or any other size not shown.
Delivery Information
Lead times are currently 3-5 working days to mainland UK addresses. The 4.2m and 4.8m boards are bulky items, so suitable delivery access is required and someone available to help with offloading. Boards are delivered banded together for safe handling.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does reversible decking mean?
One face has a grooved (ribbed) profile for grip; the other is smooth. You choose which face to lay uppermost depending on the look and grip you want.
What timber is used?
Pressure-treated softwood, typically Scandinavian redwood or similar. Treated for outdoor ground-contact use with a service life of 15+ years.
What length are the decking boards?
Check the product page for available lengths.
Do decking boards need further treatment?
The pressure treatment protects the wood. For a coloured finish, apply decking oil or stain after installation and re-apply annually.
What joist spacing should I use?
Maximum 400mm centres for 32mm boards. Closer spacing gives less bounce and flex underfoot.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What size are these decking boards?
32mm thick reversible decking boards, available in 125mm and 150mm nominal widths, in lengths of 3m, 3.6m, 4.2m and 4.8m. The 32mm refers to the board thickness.
What does 'reversible' mean?
Each board has a grooved face on one side and a smooth face on the other - so you can install either way up depending on the look you want. Grooved side up gives the classic anti-slip ridged decking finish; flip it over for a smoother, more modern surface.
Is the timber pressure-treated?
Yes - these softwood boards are UC3-graded and green-treated under pressure for outdoor use, giving protection against rot, fungal decay and insect attack. Treat any cut ends with a suitable end-grain preserver to maintain protection.
What is UC3 treatment?
UC3 (Use Class 3) is the British Standard treatment level for timber used outdoors above ground - the right specification for decking boards, fence boards and other exposed-but-not-ground-contact applications. UC3 treatment is the industry standard for garden decking.
Are the dimensions nominal or finished?
The 32mm x 125mm and 32mm x 150mm dimensions are nominal sizes - the finished planed size is slightly smaller. This is standard for machined softwood and is normal for the product.
How many boards do I need?
Measure your deck area and divide by board width plus a 5-6mm expansion gap. A 125mm board takes ~131mm per board centre; a 150mm board takes ~156mm. Order a few extra to allow for cuts and offcuts.
What sub-frame do I need?
Lay boards across pressure-treated decking joists at 400mm centres for 32mm boards (recommended). Fix with stainless steel or coated decking screws. Always pre-drill near board ends to prevent splitting.
Can the boards be stained or painted?
Yes - the boards can be finished with decking stain, oil or paint once fully dry. Untreated, the green colour will weather to a silvery grey over time. For colour retention, apply a quality decking oil or stain annually.
What are the delivery lead times?
Lead times are currently 3-5 working days to mainland UK addresses. The 4.2m and 4.8m boards are bulky items, so suitable delivery access is required and someone available to help with offloading.
