Reversible Grooved Profile

Each board is machined with a grooved face on one side and a smooth face on the other. The grooved side gives the traditional anti-slip decking finish, with channels that help water run off - the classic choice for garden decks where grip matters. The smooth reverse face gives a cleaner, more contemporary look, ideal for covered areas or where you want a flatter walking surface. You get both options in one board, so you can choose at install time or even mix the two on the same deck for visual interest.

UC3 Pressure Treatment

UC3 (Use Class 3) is the British Standard treatment level for timber used outdoors above ground - the correct specification for decking, fence boards and exterior cladding. These boards are pressure-treated with a copper-based preservative forced deep into the timber, protecting against rot, fungal decay and insect attack. Treat any freshly cut or drilled areas with a suitable end-grain preserver on site to maintain full protection.

Installation Notes

Lay boards across pressure-treated decking joists at 400mm centres (recommended for 32mm boards). Leave a 5-6mm expansion gap between boards to allow for movement. Fix with stainless steel or coated decking screws and pre-drill near board ends to prevent splitting. For best longevity, raise the deck off the ground and ensure good airflow underneath.

Finish and Weathering

As a natural pressure-treated softwood product, boards may show variation in colour, grain, knots and moisture content - this is normal and not a defect. The green treatment colour will weather to a silvery grey over time unless you apply a coloured decking stain or oil. For colour retention, treat the boards with a quality decking oil or stain annually.
