Frameless Glass Balustrade Raw Kit - 2.5m - Mill Finish Base Fix

Budget-friendly frameless glass balustrade kit covering a 2.5m base-fix run. Same aluminium channel and gasket system as our standard kit, but supplied in mill (untreated) finish for installations where the channel is hidden, will be cladded, or where appearance isn't critical. Choose your glass thickness; all gaskets, wedges, end caps and fixings included.

When to Choose Raw vs Anodised

Choose this raw kit when: the channel will be hidden, covered with cladding or stone, or finished on site; appearance isn't critical; or you want the cheapest entry point into a frameless glass system. Choose our anodised kit when: the channel will be visible in the finished installation and you want the industry-standard clean silver/satin finish. Choose our black kit when: you want a darker architectural finish.

Installation Notes

Base fix only - the channel sits on top of the floor surface, fixed through pre-drilled holes into a concrete or steel substrate. Cut to length on site if needed. The mill finish can be left raw or finished with paint/coating after installation if desired.

What's the difference between this and the standard 2.5m kit?
This is the budget-friendly 'raw' version - same aluminium channel and gasket system, but supplied in mill (untreated) finish rather than anodised. The mill finish has a raw aluminium look and is typically used when the channel will be hidden, covered with cladding, or finished on site. Base fix only.

What's mill finish?
Mill finish is the natural raw aluminium surface as it comes from the manufacturing mill - no anodising or coating applied. It has a slightly duller, more industrial look than anodised aluminium. Suitable for installations where the channel is hidden, will be cladded, or where appearance isn't critical. For visible installations, choose our anodised or black coated kits.

Is the raw kit weatherproof?
Yes - aluminium is naturally corrosion-resistant. The mill finish will weather slightly over time and may pick up surface oxidation, but structurally it lasts as long as the anodised version. If appearance matters long-term, choose anodised; if the channel is covered or hidden, raw is the cheaper option.
