Stainless Steel Handrail Posts – 316 Satin (Marine Grade)

Trade-standard 316 marine grade stainless steel handrail and balustrade posts in a brushed satin finish – the default specification for external, coastal and swimming-pool balustrade. This is the widest range we stock: end, mid and corner posts in 42.4mm and 48.3mm round and 40×40mm square, in 972mm, 978mm, 1100mm, 1378mm and 1500mm heights, with welded-base, bolt-down, concrete-in and side-fix options, plus wire-rope and bar-holder posts.

Why 316 Satin

Marine-grade 316 with a brushed satin grain that hides fingerprints, water spots and minor scuffs – the practical, hard-wearing choice for balconies, terraces, swimming pools, coastal homes and commercial work. What These Posts Are

Handrail posts are the vertical supports of a balustrade run. Specify by tube diameter (to match your handrail tube), height, position – end, mid or corner – and fixing method. End posts start and finish a run, mid posts give intermediate support, corner posts handle direction changes.

Post Types in This Range

Standard end / mid / corner posts with welded base or plain top; concrete-in posts (1378mm and 1500mm) for setting into a fresh slab; side-fix internal and external corner posts; wire-rope posts pre-drilled for 7 or 14 cable runs; bar-holder posts; and 40×40mm square posts, including saddle-fitted versions.

Specification & Standards

Manufactured to BS EN 10088 stainless steel standards. 316 grade contains 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel and 2–3% molybdenum – the molybdenum gives 316 its marine-grade resistance to chlorides for coastal and pool use. Round tube to 42.4mm or 48.3mm OD; square to 40×40mm. Heights from 972mm up to 1500mm, measured from the base plate (or ground line on concrete-in posts) to the top of the post.

Part of the Pro-Railing balustrade system – fully compatible with our handrail tube, joiners, brackets, end caps, saddle clamps and glass clamps sized to 42.4mm or 48.3mm round tube. Specify a single satin finish throughout, or contrast with mirror fittings. Check your tube diameter before ordering fittings.
