Our treated timber is sawn, pressure-treated softwood in every common UK size from 2x2 to 10x2, supplied in C16 and C24 structural grades. Tanalised for outdoor use, straight from stock in 2.4m to 4.8m lengths. Palletised UK mainland delivery from £25, 2–5 working days.
Tanalised Timber — Pressure Treated for Outdoor Use
Every length is tanalised (Wolmanised-process pressure treated), giving it the well-known green-tint and long-term resistance to rot, fungi and insect attack. That makes this timber the standard choice for decking sub-frames, garden fencing rails, pergolas, sheds, raised beds, shiplap frames and any outdoor structural use — indoors it also works fine wherever a treated finish is acceptable.
C24 Timber — Structural Grade for Rafters, Joists & Beams
Our C24 timber is the higher strength grade — the graded structural softwood specified for roof rafters, floor joists, ceiling joists, timber frame construction, wall plates and any load-bearing application. Available in 4x2, 5x2, 6x2, 8x2, 9x2 and 10x2 (nominal). All C24 lengths in stock are pressure-treated to Use Class 3 as standard.
C16 Timber — General-Purpose Treated Sizes
Our C16 timber is the general-purpose graded softwood used for stud walls (where planed CLS isn't required), noggings, battens, framing, garden structures and non-load-bearing applications. Stocked in 2x2 (47×50mm) and 3x2 (47×75mm) pressure-treated. If you need planed CLS studwork for internal partitions, see our CLS Studwork Timber C16 range.
Rough Sawn Timber — Finish, Sizes & Uses
This is rough sawn timber — the timber is left with its band-sawn finish rather than planed, so it retains the actual nominal dimensions listed (planed timber loses about 3–5mm per face). Rough sawn is exactly what's specified for structural and outdoor use where the extra material matters more than a smooth surface. Every plank is stamped with its grade and treatment class.
2x2 Treated Timber (47×50mm, C16)
2x2 timber — nominal sawn size 47×50mm, C16 grade, tanalised. In stock at 3m, 3.6m and 4.8m lengths. Standard batten, brace, framing and fence-rail size. Typical uses: garden fence rails, greenhouse/shed frames, deck sub-frame noggings, general repair and DIY.
3x2 Treated Timber (47×75mm, C16)
3x2 timber — nominal sawn size 47×75mm, C16 grade, tanalised. In stock at 3m, 3.6m and 4.8m lengths. The most versatile stud/framing size. Used for stud walls, garden buildings, wall plates on small structures, pergola uprights and fencing frames. Note that CLS 3x2 is planed to 63×38mm — see our CLS product if you need the planed finish.
4x2 Treated Timber (47×100mm, C24)
4x2 timber — nominal sawn size 47×100mm, C24 grade, tanalised. In stock at 2.4m, 3m, 3.6m, 4.2m and 4.8m lengths. The standard structural stud/joist size for small spans — used for ceiling joists (short spans), wall plates, timber frame studs, deck sub-frames, pergola beams and general structural work.
5x2, 6x2, 8x2 & 10x2 Treated Timber — Structural Sizes
For larger spans and heavier loading, the 5x2 (47×125mm), 6x2 (47×150mm), 8x2 (47×200mm), 9x2 (47×225mm) and 10x2 (47×250mm) C24 sections are the industry-standard joist and rafter sizes. Used for floor joists, roof rafters, ridge boards, deck bearers, pergola beams and any heavier structural span. Longer 4.2m and 4.8m lengths available for full-span applications — refer to your project's structural specification for span-to-section sizing.
