Common Uses

Mild steel durbar checker plate is widely used for industrial and workshop flooring, loading ramps and platforms, stair treads and walkways, vehicle access ramps, protective floor coverings, trailer and lorry bed flooring, and general anti-slip applications in commercial and construction environments.

Workability

S275 mild steel durbar plate can be cut, drilled, welded and fabricated using standard steelwork methods. It is suitable for painting, priming or galvanising after fabrication where corrosion protection is required.

Durbar Plate vs Aluminium Chequer Plate

Mild steel durbar plate is significantly stronger and heavier than aluminium chequer plate, making it the correct choice for heavy-duty structural flooring, loading ramps and high-traffic industrial applications. Aluminium chequer plate is better suited to lighter-duty applications where weight saving is important. If you are unsure which material is correct for your project, consult a structural engineer or fabricator.

Delivery Information

Lead times are currently 3–5 working days to mainland UK addresses. Sheets are heavy items — please ensure suitable access is available for delivery.
